Latest Status :  Details of development are as follows: 1) land acquisition of 557,34 ha; 2) 3,3 Km concrete rigid road; 3) Office facility; 4) telecommunication tower. Right now, State Land Agency (BPN) is processing Land Utilization certificate (HPL). In 2016, the following are the plans that were going to be realized: road in the economic zone, guest house, gate, deep well and land side seaport. Institutional Structure of KEK is as follows: KEK Regional Council of East Kalimantan Province, Secretariat of Regional Council, KEK Administrator and KEK Business Entity Development and Management. They all have been established. Process that is still underway is discussion on agreement of KEK Development and Management with East Kutai Regent. Activities of regional infrastructure development to support Maloy Batuta Trans Kalimantan (MBTK) Special Economic Zone (KEK) are:

  1. Curah Maloy Seaport (commence operation in 2017)
  2. Multipurpose Seaport Maloy
  3. Pipe Transmission Network from Sekerat
  4. Maloy access road
  5. Routine roadwork/road maintenance of Sangatta-Maloy National Road
